The best option for disposing of large items in good condition is to give them to a friend or charitable organization. Franklin County’s HandsOn Program (formerly FIRSTLINK) can provide referrals to organizations that will accept donations of old furniture, appliances or other items such as clothing and use them to help families in need. Many local churches will also take donated items and give them to needy families. Most central Ohio residents can reach HandsOn by dialing 211, others may call (614) 221-2255.

3-1-1 System

The City of Columbus Call Center 3-1-1provides a way for you, the resident, to submit a request for City Services. The Call Center is the single point of contact for requesting all non-emergency City services and
is available to residents, City businesses, and visitors.

The Columbus Call Center is also known as
"3-1-1"; its mission is to provide access to City services and City information with the highest possible levels of customer service. The "3-1-1" initiative strives to help City agencies provide efficient service delivery by allowing them to focus on their core missions, manage workloads efficiently, provide insight into the needs of residents, and measure how well services are delivered.

Report suspected City Code violations, request for neighborhood road repair or signs, request bulk trash collection, etc. with this system.

While it is advised to discuss possible code violations with your neighbor before using the 3-1-1 system, you can direct complaints about suspected City Code violations to this system. Reports can be made using your name or anonymously online or by phone.
